WHO ARE WE?
We are a family grieving center.
Our grief support program’s mission is to provide loving support in a safe place where people experiencing loss are allowed and encouraged to share their feelings and tell their stories as they journey through the grief process.
It is important to recognize there are three tasks which assist in the healing process:
GRIEVING: We provide services in a caring and compassionate environment to allow each person to grieve in their own way. Our facilitators have had extensive training in the field of grief. Most of us are mental health or medical professionals. All of our staff of volunteers is available during each group session to listen and to guide the participants on their journeys.
UNDERSTANDING: We bring a great deal of experience and understanding to our participants. Our organization began providing these groups in 1994. We have helped hundreds of children, teens, adults, and parents over the years. We do focus on education and improving communication between family members and friends.
COMMEMORATE: Remembrance is an important part of grief. Our annual Tree of Lights Ceremony held in December is a beautiful memorial service that allows one to memorialize loved ones.
We began serving the Shreveport/Bossier City communities in 1994. We are a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers.
